August 2009 David & Susie Sjoberg
Florida in August isn’t the brightest idea but our daughter got married in July and left for Florida the next day where she and her husband live. So our mission was to take their wedding gifts down to them. Kind friends in Fort Wayne loaned us their van and we filled it. We enjoyed four days in Orlando with Rachel and Jordan (daughter and son-in-law) which included one day at Animal Kingdom. Then we stayed with friends on Jekyll Island, GA where we actually hand-fed dolphins in the wild. We were tempted to try and ride them but were afraid they would take us to France or something! Our final night was in Winston-Salem with very close friends for almost 30 years. Susie and I met, dated, married and had our first-born in North Carolina so that feels like a second home. After fourteen hours on the road on Saturday, it was nice to get a good laugh as we arrived home to find Jake and his wife weeding our shrubbery area!

July 2009 Tim & Bev Wagnerowski
The Wagnerowski family enjoyed a great vacation in sunny Florida. We started out in the Cocoa Beach / Cape Canaveral area where we enjoyed a couple of days the beach & the Kennedy Space Center. A day trip to Daytona Beach allowed us to tour the Daytona International Speedway & the Daytona 500 Experience exhibits. Then we were off to Orlando where we enjoyed the beautiful accomodations of the Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort at Disney World. We spent a day hopping through the Disney parks, spent a day at Sea World, and a few more days enjoying the resort & relaxing by the pool & floating in the lazy river. What a blessing it was to get away for awhile! Being greeted by Hank & his wife upon returning home was certainly a funny surprise! We took a half-dozen guesses as to who might be "BEHIND" the prank before someone finally saw the writing on the back. We thank Harold & Barb for introducing us to Hank & his wife, and we look forward to sharing them with another family in the near future.

Had a great time hiking Vermont and spending time with relatives at a family reunion. We were surprised to have Jake & his wife waiting for us when we returned.

It had been a long drive home after spending a week in Ontario, Canada. Ben had been interviewed by a Canadian television show. We enjoyed staying with my sister and her family. As we pulled up to our house at 1am, something was not right. In the dark it was hard to see what was standing in front of our front door. The porch seemed to be roped off and something large was placed in front of the steps. The kids thought it was a giant flashlight and ice cream cone. As we got closer, we sighed with relief. It was our own personal welcoming committee: Smilin' Hank and his wife! We let them stay in our front yard for a day and then asked them to reside in our porch until a more suitable place could be found. Lucky for Hank and his lovely wife, the Sherwood family would need their services soon...
